Laws of the Game: Nearer to the Opponent’s Goal Line – Law 11

Law 11 states that a player is in an offside position when nearer to the opponents’ goal line than both the ball and the second-to-last defender. The term nearer refers to when any part of an attacker’s body which can legally play the ball is past the second-to-last defender.
